★彡 Leo's Thoughts on Ads 彡★

Small Businesses + Ads = Win!

Advertisements are basically almost essential for these smaller businesses, the traditional way of advertising like radio, television ads, and even billboards, is out of the picture of these smaller businesses, who wouldn’t even be able to afford these ways of advertising. While research has shown advertising online has helped with businesses it's also much more budget friendly, allowing them to reach a broad audience. Studies from MIT called “The Future of the Ad- Supported Internet Ecosystem” done by Natalie klym, and David Clark have shown that advertising online can help attract and build trust with their audience or buyers, which are more likely to support them. If small businesses advertise right, like advertising to a certain group, a certain age, or just something a lot of people like, they make it big. Like how the ETSU paper called “Social Media Marketing Strategies for Small Businesses” by Isaac Deel, if these small businesses target peoples interest, they can benefit. Without advertising online, some of these small businesses would most likely not thrive and stay hidden.

Small Businesses + Too Many Ads = Lose?

Regarding how people already see ads, they don’t like them usually scrolling or clicking away, I myself will scroll off ads also. Small businesses are sneaky. I was scrolling once on instagram watching a movie clip, like those recap things, and half way it got cut and it was some guy promoting his businesses. Like no I don’t wanna see that, i scrolled right off. Most small businesses mean well, but they can just be pushy and annoying as big companies. Sometimes whenever they have an Instagram page to advertise their business whenever they don't get the interaction or views, those pages are usually forgotten and never posted again on.

A great quote I picked from one of the articles, I thought this would help a bit

"Digital advertising provides small businesses with cost-effective ways to reach a broader, more targeted audience, which is often unattainable through traditional media due to high costs."
