Even though I'm saying ads are helpful they most definitely have a big downside. Which is just super annoying, especially when I'm watching a video and one pops up, when I'm scrolling and scroll onto one, even playing a mobile game and I just get an ad. And I feel like a lot of people have done the same thing, just clicking off an ad because they were just too much.

One of the big problems with ads and advertising is the concern of privacy. According to the ETSU study, digital ads usually track what you do online, things like what you like watching or even search for, things you might have clicked so they can show you ads that match with what you like. Some people might find this creepy or unnerving seeing something they recently searched as an advertisement.

Kanhere talks about the different ways and technologies they use to track and the methods they use to put your personal data at risk, which can come as a major concern. Some ways they do this is in mobile apps.
